What type of LPL? The base version? There are umpteen different varieties...
Beyond limited editions I believe there is traditionnel and nature (unscented). The sample I used, and the one I am buying is:
wpfe6c1ad1_05_06.jpg

Traditionnel : parfumé avec des huiles essentielles provençales (lavande, thym, sauge...)
per LPL website

Brush: Duke 2
Razor: Merkur 37c
Blade: English Wilky (9)
Soap: SC Endurance
A/S: Alum and European Old Spice

Much better shave today than yesterday, the SC is very nice but certainly likes a lot of water. Still enjoying the 37c and Wilky combo, still no sting from the Alum. Very happy shaver today.

Brush: LoveYourShave 25mm
Soap: Razor Rock Don Marco
Razor: Merkur 34
Blade: Personna Blue (1)
Post-shave: Alum and Neiva Sensitive After Shave Balm

First shave with the new brush, see March Acquisitions thread for details. Three pass shave. New brush worked great and am still loving the Don Marco citrus scent.

These are sounding better and better mate, but I fear we are sailing mighty close to needing photos to really get a sense of the aesthetic of your improving shaves.

Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 super
Soap: ADP new formula
Razor: Feather ASD2
Blade: Astra (2)
Post-shave: Myrsol K

Despite the ok lather today excellent shave. The new formula certainly has skin care at the top of its list. Have decided going forward however to not use the Chubb with ADP as its to difficult to fit the brush into the small opening of the jar and makes loading a pain.

Why 'Wolfpack' mate?

Just a jab at someone saying their razor was the new leader of the stainless Wolfpack. [emoji4]
Never said that mate - was somebody else’s words - my Wolf is a loner, the pack can't reach it ;)

Anyway - back on topic:

Brush: Whipped Dog 24/48 High Mountan
Pre-Shave: Occams Original pre-shave soap
Soap: Mike's Lemongrass & Eucalyptus
Razor: The Wolf
Blade: PolSilver SI (3)
Post-shave: South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

After the last shave which as a bit of a disaster I went back to exactly the same gear (just changed Mike's scent) and tried again. Today life was perfect again - blade pulled a bit at the end, but still fantastic shave with no (negative) issues and silky smooth results!

And again I have to repeat myself: if you haven't tried Olive Oil as post-shave, please do so straight away - it is still a revelation!

Brush: L'occitane Synth
Soap/Cream: PAA Cavendish
Razor: Gold Dollar str8 (cheeks only)
Razor: Weber PH with Bulldog handle
Blade: Voskhod [1]
After-shave: Floïd Vigoroso

Met up with @MrT and @borked this afternoon so had to return MrT's Cavendish, Weber classic handle and brushes. The soap certainly plenty of slickness and a lovely scent to boot.

Brush: Vintage Boots re knot (Shavemac Finest)
Razor: 37c
Blade: English Wilky (10)
Soap: MWF
A/S: D.R. Harris Pink

Very nice shave today, the re knotted Boots brush is very nice on the face and it lathered up MWF like a pro. Still enjoying the the 37c but it's getting a bit boring.

Mastro Livi CarboInox Kamisori

It is always a great joy to shave with a masterpiece, it adds beauty to a beautiful act like traditional shaving. This Mastro Livi CarboInox kamisori is also a great shaver, giving a deep and close shave, just like any Mastro Livi straight razor. This is the very first CarboInox kamisori ever made by Mastro Livi and I love the stunning combination of shiny stainless steel and the elegant touch of the carbon damascus in the middle. CarboInox is in fact made with the San Mai technique and it is made of three layers of steels, in which Mastro Livi has been successful in combining carbon steel to stainless steel. Amazing shave!
  • Pre-Shave: Roberts Distilled Rose Water
  • Soap: Musgo Real Orange Amber
  • Brush: My Father's Omega Bristle 47
  • Bowl: Gerby Bowl
  • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop and Hand Palm
  • Razor: Mastro Livi CarboInox Kamisori
  • Post-Shave: Umbrian Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • After Shave: Myrsol F./Extra

@razorguy mate, your razor collection... what can I say ?
Astounding!

Razor: Gillette Rocket Parat
Blade: Gillette Super Stainless (Australia 1984)
Soap: LaToja Stick
Alum block: From india, forgot about the name but it's very smooth

Today I used the LaToja with my scuttle, I rubbed it over the swirl to get a good amount of soap and lathered it like I'd do with cream. Classic 3 pass shave + an extra ATG for a close & comfortable result.

A beautiful shave with a beautiful razor indeed!

It's nice having a heirloom/connection from your father. Lovely. Do you have any more from your father or grandfather?

Brush: Chubby 2 Best
Soap/Cream: PAA Cavendish
Razor: Gillette New LC with Weber Classic handle
Blade: PolSilver SI (1)
Bowl: En Ceramics custom scuttle
After-shave: Witch Hazel plus Eau de Moe aftershave

Nice enough shave, but I miss the @filobiblic 's Merkur Progress. Hurry up Himage!

First time bowl lathering in a while. I must say, warm lather is LOVELY. I noticed the warmth more than I expected to. It's delightful. I wonder if there is a way to combine the benefits of face lathering with the warm lather of a scuttle...

@razorguy: could you please give some more info on the Omega 47? Looks like everything you would love to get today from a 49...

Brush Frank Shaving Silvertip
Razor Gillette Slim H4
Blade Permasharp
Pre-Shave Proraso Green
Cream TOBS Mr Taylors
Post Shave Proraso Green, Dickson's Original Witch Hazel & Natio Calming Aftershave Balm

After trying to take my nose off last week and not needing to see clients in person I had a lazy week and only had a few half-arsed shaves with Persona red blades.

Decided to start the week off with the Permasharp (many thanks again to @SmallYetDeadly for sending me these). Started with the Slim set to 6 and the Permasharp made short work of the weekend growth.
Are these better than the Polsilvers? Not sure yet but they are definitely up there.
Weather is warm again in Melbourne, so I re-used the Proraso Green pre-shave as a first stage post-shave to give a bit of that cooling menthol.

Picked up a puck of Mitchell Wool Fat from Mensbiz at lunch so I'll give that a go with the Permasharp tomorrow.

Brush: FS Silvertip
Soap/Cream: Strop Shoppe Date Night
Razor: Gold Dollar str8 (cheeks only)
Razor: Weber PH with Bulldog handle
Blade: Voskhod [2]
After-shave: Aqua Velva Ice Blue

The Strop Shoppe soap is a good'un. Lovely to use and lovely on the face. Scent is delightful yet weaker than I'd prefer.

The str8 suddenly clicked and is becoming a lot smoother. Weber cleaned up what I didn't take off with the straight.

Voshkods aren't the favourites but work ok in certain razors.

The Aqua Velva is a winner. I don't like the nozzle opening (too big and pointless for slowing the flow out). But the slight menthol and lovely barbershop scent is terrific. No wonder it's a classic. (Y)

I tried a hot towel shave this morning. First time doing this but man was it good. I used PAA Cavendish soap and it was one of the smoothest shaves I have ever had.

Next I'm thinking about how I'll go about trying to shave in the shower in the mornings to hopefully replicate that feel.

Brush: Thater 49125
Soap: LPL
Razor: Feather AS-D2
Blade: Feather (4)
Post-shave: Agua Balsamic

Tried to Thater again to see how much it would be missed if some member got off his arse and bought it off me. Well since I face lathered the LPL today it did well, very well.

This here is a winning combination. Not quite sure how today's shave could have been improved. I know music in the bathroom. Now that'd do the trick. Hmmm....
