Did they/you try applying emulsion > after shave?
How was the performance?
I agree with @Draco Noir, the scent doesn't do that well for me. I think it's the floral notes. Certainly is a classic scent, but my preference is towards modern fragrance scents.

@borked thanks for the advice, I did try that! Emulsion first, then let it sit for a while then the cologne. You cannot deny that the performance is great, but compared to just plain using Myrsol, I am applying two products here. Myrsol is a good combination of value and performance for me. Scent preference also goes to the Myrsols for me.

Personally it's always the scent of a product that attracts me first, then it's performance. Hope I'm not alone here [emoji14]

Interesting. I'm not sure I would describe it that way but there are certainty enough well performing products that there has to be something special to bother with them.

Yea, that's because scent really makes my shave. I can have a bloody Freddy @SpeedyPC shave but totally intoxicated with the scent, I'd still enjoy it. Ways of the Scent Ghoul - Scentghouldo.

@silver if you want Freddy Krueger you're better off sleeping while shaving with a straight I'm sure he'll be happy to give you a blood bath shave.

Pre: GFT lime skin food (I need to explore more pre shave options)
Brush: RV Shavemac 'Mandarb' 2 band silvertip
Soap: Razorock SMF
Razor: iKon B1 Slant
Blade: Voskhod
Post: alum, witch hazel, SH Green Tobacco

Fantastic soap this SMF. Thick, dense, slick, luxurious and most of all - fantastic scent. Tobacco and hints of vanilla and amber. I'm usually not into sweet scents, but this soap here has an amazingly balanced scent.

This is my first menthol soap as well, nice little cooling effect on the face. It's very cooling when I splash cold water over my face, such an amazing experience. I am tempted to try B&M's next special release, the Artique. Boasts an inhuman level of menthol.

First time pairing the Voskhod with the slant. The stallion is now a gelding. I need to get some Voskhods. I did nicked myself on the chin due to carelessness. But certainly it's not as scary as my feather in a slant experience. The voskhod is interesting for me, it doesn't feel like I am using a blade when I shave with it. That familiar blade on skin feeling isn't very pronounced with the voskhod. Nonetheless, I did managed a very clean shave with them.

Razor: Gillette 'Fatboy' Adjustable (5)
Blade: Vintage Schick Superior Platinum (6)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson boar
Soap/Cream: Mike's Natural Shaving Soaps - Barbershop
Aftershave: Ogallala Bay Rum Limes Peppercorns

Forgot to change the blade, but 6 shaves is well within spec on these vintage Schicks :)

OPened the aftershave drawer and the Ogallala was crying out to me about the *abuse* it received yesterday. I confirmed I still loved her, she is very nice with just a little burn ...

Preshave: PAA Ice soap and Proraso red preshave
Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89
Blade: Polsilver SI
Brush: Simpson Commodore X2
Soap: Mystic Water Teakwood and Cardamom(May Madness)
Post Shave: Gummy Balm and Proraso Green AS
Three pass shave. I do so enjoy Sunday shaves when I can take my time and revel in the experience. The Gummy balm is a very good product with a hint of menthol and is absorbed into the skin with no greasy feel. The Proraso Green after shave is just very pleasant. Have a good Sunday all.

Razor: Rockwell 6S (3)
Blade: Feather (1)
Brush: Omega Boar
Soap: Shaver Heaven Peppermint Plus
After: Alum, Myrsol formula "C"

Threw a feather in three Rockwell this morning. The GSB felt like it was on the way out yesterday. Having shaved yesterday, I skipped the WTG pass today and performed a 2 pass shave. XTG, then a hybrid XTG/ATG pass to finish with a little clean up. The result was better than yesterday, with very little irritation just under the neck. Overall, a good outing with the fearsome feather blade to DFS quality. Happy Sunday everyone, may all your shaves be fantastic today! [emoji2]

Pre: Face wash/ St James shave oil
Soap: Dr Jon's 'Classic'
Brush: St James 24mm Super Badger
Razor: Fridour Inox 6/8 (no.2)
Post: Alum, Thayers Cucumber, Natio AB

Great shave today. The soap and brush combo were great today, this brush is definitely built to face lather and so it is an absolute treat to use. The soap gave decent performance as well, the scent is nice, but not really my cup of tea.
The razor again had no trouble mowing through a weeks growth of beard, it's a real pleasure hearing a very vocal razor slicing through whiskers haha. Then to finish up this delightful shave it the usual two suspects but for the AB I used the very nice Natio maximum razor relief lotion.
Happy shaving everyone (y)
