...Oh well, blades are the ultimate YMMV - and Feathers are a "No" for me.

Don't be so hasty!

IMHO it is the razor and blade combo that is critical - some blades work in one razor and not others and vice versa.

Great point @Mark1966 . I'll not PIF them. I have a Slim arriving from @filobiblic any day now, and I will try them in there….albeit set on 1  Having said that the PSS are very nice in the Weber I must say. What have you found working well so far?

The last week I've been away and using my travel gear inc Sensor Excel. Can't wait for DE shave tomorrow.

Don't necessarily stick Feather in a mild razor or on a mild setting. From my recollection of using a R41 2011 for example I think I found the Feathers worked best of all ...

Yep noting that an R41 is days away @Mark1966 this is crazy talk. What's next that a Feather tastes good on white bread with peanut butter? :cautious:

The bells tolls for this Spoiler, double WTG for a quick DFS- shave.
I think the blade could have been up for a regular 3 pass shave but I wasn't in the mood and my tea was getting cold ^.^

Razor: Gillette Red Tip 1955
Blade: Gillette Spoiler 1972 @ 7
Cream: TOBS Coconut
AF: Pinaud Virgin Island Bay Rum

Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpsons
Soap/Cream: Proraso Menthol and Eucalyptus Shaving Soap
Razor: Weber PH w/- Bulldog handle
Blade: Feathers - shave 1
After-shave: Proraso Menthol and Eucalyptus Aftershave

Oh the joy of being home and having a decent shave!

Went for the Proraso as it was a bit later than usual for my shave and the sun was up - so I wanted to pretend that warmer weather was here.

Slipped a Feathers in the Weber in honour of @stillshunter - great shave.

I think when I know there is a Feathers on board I shave more carefully, slower and no pressure - prefect result.

Same when I use them in ultra aggressive razors too - YMMV of course.

Great way to start the day!

Just great….SUPER! So it's not the razor or the blade. It's me! Me and my stupid face or the deficient amount of squishy grey stuff flopping around somewhere in the walnut behind it. Feeling pretty damn special about now. Thanks @Mark1966….flattered.

LOL - sorry mate

I'll admit that the Feathers require care.

I'll also confess that I have what my hairdresser calls 'strong' hair - ie thick, straight and hard to cut. My beard is the same and my skin is pretty resilient. I probably should talk about the blade/razor/face combo really!

Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpsons
Soap/Cream: Occams Original Shaving Cream
Razor: Weber PH w/- Bulldog handle
Blade: Feathers - shave 4
After-shave: SIM balm

Just another nice shave

Yep just rub it in mate. Rub it in. Bloody Feathers!!
So what are your thoughts on the Weber a half dozen or so shaves in mate?

It is growing on me. Using the Feathers blade and being more careful as a result I find that I'm actually holding the razor differently and it feels less unbalanced. In this scenario the weight is a good thing and compensates for no pressure.

We will see how it goes with a vintage Schick or something soon.

Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpsons
Soap/Cream: Mike's Natural Shaving Soap - Hungarian Lavender
Razor: Weber PH w/- Bulldog handle
Blade: Feathers - shave 5
After-shave: Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve

I've not used Feathers for ages but through they were only good for 3-4 shaves from memory. Will push this one to 6 tomorrow then travelling for an overnight trip to YPAD - or ADL for the uninitiated ...

Love that Special Reserve too!

Brush: Vulfix #374 Super Badger
Soap/Cream: Proraso Red
Razor: Fatboy (9)
Blade: Gillette Super Inoxydable (3)
After-shave: nil
Scent: nil

The Proraso Red is back on deck and I am actually quite enjoying it. First shave on Monday was a cracker, but this morning it was not a good a lather as the previous initial use.

The Super Inoxydable is holding up well although I sensed some wear and tear on it today. Sharpness is okay but lost some smoothness.

Lost one hair out of the #374 on the 4th shave. No major issue there.

Brush: FS badger
Soft soap: nanny's ice and a slice
Razor: Schick disposable
Extras: none

Couldn't find any decent blades in the 5 minutes I was asked to look around Little India before going for a feed so the red tailed rocket (?) Stayed in its plastic case and I had to use the generic disposable Schick razor.

Had a decent enough leather, but the shave with the disposable felt horrible. Embarrassingly however it gave a very close shave with a smooth finish in 2 passes that I have been struggling to get with a 3 or 4 pass shave with a DE recently.

Maybe I should try the next shave with canned goop and see if I can get an even better one?

Great shave today on a 4 day beard. Used the 37c slant with a mystery blade. Then TOBs shave shop cream with my milk churn. Re knotted by Pjtor. Amazing great work and so thankful! It works amazingly. Fantastic shave and curious what was the blade. Oh an Astra haha of course lol

Sacrilege! Scandal!
It's leading you down the wide and paved path to destruction. Don't let it deduce you...

What with the above and my admission of not buying anything shaving related in almost a year I think one of the mods must have their finger hovering, poised over the expel button.
