Pre-shave:- Cold Water straight from the tap
Bowl/Scuttle:- Captain's Choice
Brush:- Maseto Beehive 'Horn' Tuxedo Synth. 26/54mm knot
Soap/Cream:- Mike’s Natural ~ Bay Rum
Razor/Blade:- Rockwell 6S-R4 / Gillette Nacet #10
Post/After-shave:- T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent mixed into the 240ml bottle with Natural Glycerin (20 drops) & Tea Tree Antiseptic (5)
Fragrance:- Tommy Hilfiger for Men


One of these days Mr Moderator (cheeky bastard), I'm going to bloody belt you...... I saw what you did ;)

Two enjoyable shaves with the slight edge going to the Apollo as its just a bit smoother... Happy shaves!

This is an little known soap from the Sunshine Coast but up there with many other artisan makers,please check these locals out.They have about 5 scents,plus body soap,and shampoo bars.
200ml for $20 +$12 flat postage.
Clean ingredient list with crisp peppermint scent and moderate menthol hit.
Thanks to @Ozymandias for the suggestion.
The King Parrot that landed on me during the shave was a pleasant distraction.
Great last few days with the Grandchildren here for Master 3 birthday,today.

First time ever to use an Astra SP and it seemed to go quite well in the Blackbird; perhaps a bit more buffing required than usual but a DFS result. Perhaps the only criticism
of the Bird is that the faux SR71 type coating doesn't slide on the face like a chrome or polished stainless razor does. Not a big deal though, more a personality quirk.
Love the P&B soap, slick and easy to lather.

Took advice from another thread where it was recommended that pre-shave is wasted on face lathering. I don't actively use a pre-shave cream but the matching set is there so might as well.
Definitely a slicker shave using the pre shave cream and making the effort and taking time to bowl lather.
