Gold Dollar W59 finished and maintained on a vintage coticule/Belgium blue whetstone.

​

It has taken me a while but I think I have worked out this whetstone so as to give me a reasonably keen edge with a very comfortable shave. I definitely can't complain about the closeness of this shave.

Titan ACRM-2 T.H.60 modified to a French point shorty and rescaled in figured European maple timber. The edged was finished and is maintained on diamond pasted balsa. Oh, what a lovely razor to shave with.

Last week, I tried the +++ plate with a brand-new blade, and the result was a little outside my comfort zone (and this is someone who used to use an R41 as a daily driver). The extra plate was very expensive, so I have a certain investment in making it work, so today I tried it with a blade that's had a few miles on the clock. Much better, but I'm still not sure I would do this every day.
