So I'm presuming that it is always a 'Cold Water Shave' for you mate?

Yes @Mark1966 I love cold water shave because it's keep my skin from irritation throughout my shaves, and the cold water is going to hit my face pretty darn hard throughout winter season very soon.

I always use cold tap water also, no need for warm water in India!
The water does get quite cold as temps drop overnight, it's very refreshing and doesn't impact the quality of the shave at all even though we may think warm water allows for a better shave.

Preshave: Hot water splash
Razor/Blade: Fat Boy G3 (9) & Voskhod (3)
Brush: TF Custom 28mm Silvertip.
Soap: PAA "Sangra De Draco "
Post shave: Hot water splash, Cold Water Splash, Witchhazel, TSW Balm
Aftershave/Edp: PAA "Sangra De Draco"

Thought I would mix things up a bit with today's shave as I have not used either this brush or razor for a fair old while.
Lovely shave with my face being smashed around with what felt like a large feather pillow and the razor set on 9 which still felt fairly mild to my other razors but all round a very enjoyable shave with lots of lather :D
Enjoy your night guys. Cheers Tony

WOW! That Fatboy is beautiful!

My place 3,300' in the mountains is supposed to be -3 tonight (glad I'm down here in Newcastle ATM) and the tank water pipes often freeze where they are exposed from either the house or underground from the tanks. We have solar hot water but that is fairly hopeless in our long-night short-day cold winters. Using the unmetered booster costs a motza so cold washes there are bloody cold washes. of course, I use hot water for the brush and razor.

Razor: Vintage British Aristocrat #15
Blade: Vintage Schick Super Platinum (4)
Brush: Shavemac 'Americana' DO1
Soap/Cream: Australian Private Reserve 'Fougère Bourbon Rose' soap
Aftershave Splash: Australian Private Reserve 'Fougère Bourbon Rose' splash
Aftershave Balm: Australian Private Reserve 'Fougère Bourbon Rose' balm

Good to hear that your relatives are safe @TomG, saddened to hear of those who lost their lives or were injured in Manchester. I know too of others here with friends and family in different parts of the world suffering ongoing persecution and hardship. I can 'only' hold all those at a distance in my thoughts and prayers, but closer to home I can hopefully bring some love and care into my immediate world.

As I shave with the razor of a long past soldier, use blades from a bygone era, lather with a great brush purchased on the B/S/T here from a bloke I've never met (@Psmith) but am grateful to and smell wonderful because of the 'hobby' of a very talented member (@todras) and his equally talented soap-making partner (@Sxot) I'm conscious that while this is not a world changing moment, and will certainly not get the media attention of Manchester, there is good in the world, there are wonderful, generous, kind and sacrificial people too. I'm very thankful.

Have a great shave and a great day guys.
Champion post, @Mark1966

The Slim is still King!
No pics, sorry! But had to share.
Got a great shave this morning using the Slim for the first time in a little while (have been using the newly acquired Red Tip and Fatboy since getting them) and it did not disappoint!
Pre: Shower
Razor: Slim on 3
Blade: Permasharp 3rd or 4th use
Soap: P&B Sanskrit
Post: Proraso Red Splash and TSW Balm

Two passes, WTG and XTG, for a close, irritation free DFS. The Slim is still the King in my bathroom :)
Out of curiosity what razors do you keep, I ask as you sound like me 5 or so years ago with your enthusiasm for the slim but in the past few years I had no special shaves with it so I swapped it.

What razors do I keep? ALL of them!
Haha i couldn't do it, I limit myself to one shelf more or less so what fits on there can stay and what doesn't moves on, it means I tend to have a few dollars in the "buy random crap" box, I just picked up a long comb new for example, but it's another reason I don't want original packaging.. I have no use for it and couldn't bring myself to chuck it

Musgo Glyce
Boots Manchurian
Timeless
Feather
Mystic Water Sardinian Honey
Chatillon Lux Vide Poche Salve
Chatillon Lux Vide Poche Aftershave
L`Artisan Parfumeur Fou d`Absinthe

Warm rich honey and amber, two passes, superb :)

Pre: Hot Shower
Razor: Feather AS-D2
Blade(s): Persona 74 (4)
Brush: Simpsons Super Chubby 2
Soap/Cream: APR Winterfell
Post: Thayers Aloe Vera Medicated
EDT/P: APR Winterfell EDP

Fourth shave with the Persona .. still as good as the second. I read up that some people say these come into their own by the fifth shave .. we will see about that!

The APR Winterfell Shave Soap was a little subtle for me but had a very nice scent. The APR Winterfell EDP was a delight to put on last night when it arrived and this morning as well.

Edit: must start taking photos!

Razor: Colonial Razors - The General
Blade: Feather Pro-guard (1)
Brush: Semogue SOC Boar
Soap: B&M Hallows
Post: B&M Hallows Splash

Very therapeutic shave this morning. I woke up feeling unusually stressed out, but a little bit of time with B&M and The General did no end of good. (y)

Excellent choice Sir - I also chose the Sardinian Honey today ;)

Windsor soap pre shave wash
Feather AC DX with Kai guarded blade (16)
Tim's Greek Peach
Omega S Brush S10005
Re-lather and cold rinse

Another 3 pass 90% BBS. First outing with the S Brush and I'm suitably impressed. I loaded for longer than usual in the tub - this soap has the tendency to get bubbly but by adding water slowly the brush kept the lather as flat and creamy as it has ever been. Enough lather for 3 passes plus my re-lather routine. And of course not needing to soak it, along with it drying straight away, is a bonus...
