So we've heard or Monsta's blade count, what's your razor count?

No ones up to the mark when it comes to collecting

@eggbert Thats an AWESOME collection... I really have to take photo's of mine... as they day didnt happen unless there's photos... so I'll get onto it soon! :)
It's only a fraction of the MARKet really...

I got bored a few weeks ago when the Missus was away and put the inventory into a lil text doc, so this thread is just asking for a cut'n'paste. It's worth noting that I'll generally just keep one of them out at a time, use it for several weeks or until I desire a change - the rest of the time they're wrapped up in newspaper in a cardboard box with most of the rest of my shaving surplus. The only ones I don't/won't use are the 3 black handled Super Speeds, which have never been used and apparently were production line quality control reference checkers (prolly crap but thats what seller advised).

So in no particular order:
  • Merkur 37c (Slant HD)
  • Adams Open Comb
  • Muhle R.41 (2013 variant, head only)
  • Lord LP1822L (L6)
  • Feather Travel razor
  • Rimei A2001
  • Weber Stainless Steel Polished Head with Bulldog handle
  • Edwin Jagger DE89BA11 (Barley)
  • Empire Razor No.2 (Brass with Nickel plated head)
  • Gillette Tech with aluminium handle(Made in England P2 - 1970)
  • Gillette Tech with aluminium handle(Made in England R2 - 1971)
  • Gillette Heavy Tech
  • Gillette Slim Adjustable (K4 - 1965)
  • Gillette Slim Adjustable (J4 - 1964)
  • Gillette Slim Adjustable (J1 - 1964)
  • Gillette Old Type Ball-End (open comb, no date markings)
  • Gillette Red Tip Super Speed (No date code, notched centre bar ~1948+, Made in England)
  • Gillette 40's Style Super Speed (Y3 - 1963)
  • Gillette 40's Style Super Speed (Z4 - 1964)
  • 3 x Gillette Black Handled Super Speed (W4 - 1976) - UNUSED
Nothing I ever paid much for or thats boxed etc but generally they're all in pretty good condition and have a far bit of variety to offer across the bunch - which was kind of the idea.

Yeah obviously I misread this thread and posted how many blades I have.

I do not have 600 razors.

What do I use?
I've tried lots of them, although still not all. I tend to stick to:
  • British Aristocrats,
  • President,
  • Fatboy,
  • Slim,
  • Rockets
  • Aristocrat Junior

My favourites are the hefty British Aristocrats while a leaning towards the solid guard. Must think about what I will use tomorrow now.

What blades do I use?
Astra SPs tend to be my benchmark blade and the one I come back to. Sharks are great too as a cheapie. Personnas and Crystals were a real let down for me.

I find that the razor/blade combo makes a big difference. I had an Eclipse Red Ring that I sold (and possible regret doing so but SOMETHING had to go) that was really not working for me. Irritation and razor burn galore. I slipped in a Feather and it was wonderful! I often find that the Feather works really well in an aggressive razor.

What razors don't I use and why?
Old Types - I don't really like using them. But now you mention it, it has been a while. Maybe I need to go back and try again.

Gold Plated collectible razors - these tend to be a use once and put away. The plating is just too thin.

Double Rings and other unique pieces - once again used and put away. I don't want to risk damaging them. Most I've used a couple of times but certainly not regularly. I've not tried the serial numbered 1-5 Gold Toggle yet - not sure if I will.

Is that the sort of post you wanted? :embarrest:

What you sold the Weber?

One Razor. One blade (maybe 2…). Seriously.

Attention to detail has never been a strong poi….oh who am I kidding I was born without it!
So how's the list changed?
I don't think it's shrunk if that's what you mean... [emoji4]
