Gillette FatBoy (6)
Gillette Super Stainless (1)
Crabtree & Evelyn
Simpson Commodore 2

First run with the Super Stainless and I give them the thumbs up. I think that I got a closer cut on the WTG pass than I was getting from the Astra, and perhaps a touch closer after the ATG pass. Will be interested to see how many shaves I get from this.

Soap/Cream: Old Spice Shaving Cream
Razor:Schick Krona 1965 metal knob + Merkur 34C
Blade: Schick Super Chromium + Polsilver Super Iridium
After-shave: Aqua Velva Original Sport

It was overall a very comfortable shave and the AF feedback was excellent.

Two razors and blades in the one shave - now THAT is a way to work through my collection!

My shaving has settled into a bit of a routine with the Feather Kamisori x1 and a touch up with the Futur if needed.

Or if in a hurry a quick whiz with the Futur always loaded these days with a Perma Sharp.

I just change soaps and creams as the mood dictates and use mostly the little butterscotch for creams

and an old boar brush for soaps. It works well for me.

I have been using Hovaths (sp?) Gold for a while and haven't had an ingrown hairs since. Good stuff.

I loaded a new blade - reached into my box and pulled out a 7OC Black.

I fear that shaving with vintage blades has ruined me for many modern blades. Just did not feel sharp at all. Good comfortable shave though.

Been chugging along.

P.160 & ARKO! mostly.

Put a new Schlicky in the slim today. Gee they are good!

All right members and guests (not forgetting the odd robot), I know you have all been anxiously scanning this forum waiting for the next exciting, and slightly longer report on my shaving. Settle everyone let the adrenalin calm a bit before reading on.

Here we go then: Shaved - good.

Only kidding.
Biggest change was in the cream, I found a sample of something called "Charismatic Vert Vetter".

Now this I believe was a precursor to ARKO!!!! - they inventors probably excluded it on the basis the scent was a bit much :).
Still it does grow on you (a little like toe fungus I think)
Slim - Spoiler little wooden brush and all done,
I recommend the cream to anyone (especially if you have a problem with bats possums or feral pigs).

Regards to all

Busy lately so have opted for some efficiency and speed.

Shaves over the last 1-2 weeks have used the following items:
Razor - Merkur 37c slant
Blades - Gillette Yellows and Personna Reds
Soaps - Razorock Mudder Focker, Razorock XXX, Valobra Fougere, Proraso green soap
Brushes - Various Omega Boars
After shave - Myrsol Antesol, Proraso Green ASL, Proraso Green ASB, Simpsons ASB

The slant does a great job. My recent shaves with this as well as the Muhle R41 2011 have been mostly nick-free and smooth, with no irritation or burn. Seems the "harsher" razors - used right - leave my face in a better state.

Time to change things up a bit. I'll see how I feel tomorrow and pick a new lot of things to work with for a while.

@possombelly Is your slant a daily driver?

Spoke to the tool machinist tonight.
He is contemplating the idea, yet expressed that having these done as a batch via CNC machining would be a cheaper option considering it's $100 an hour by memory for his labour, either with CNC or manually manufacturing them.
Will speak to him later in the week, yet he is after an idea of numbers to begin with.
Any word @borked ? I remain super keen. Any ideas on the design, look, material, etc.?

Soap/Cream: Mystic Water (forget which one)
Razor:Gillette Superspeed
Brush: Mistura
Blade: Voskhod (3)
After-shave: skipped. Was in a hurry to catch my bus.

The Superspeed is on the verge of being declared my fave vintage razor. Voskhod blades have found a special place in my routine.

Should speak to him tomorrow, yet it depends upon numbers and other details, like material, size, design etc...
What do people want ?
He's made it abundantly clear that it will be a lot more reasonable if there is a multiple item order that justifies use of computer aided designe, which is then used to computer aid cut the things...

I busted out the Arlington soap. Finally gave up trying to get a decent lather as it was, and grated the bastard. Better.

Pretty much using PSS daily, with a couple of others to break it up.
Also growing pretty fond of the Butterscotch TGN. They make a pisser of a knot.

I spent my holidays with just Cella and the Berkeley. While it does the job, I'd say it was my least favourite brush to use. The Butter is softer and firmer, even though they're around the same size.

Is that the brush Pete did you brought from me?

Would be very pleased if you ended up liking it!

@borked it's probably easier having a dedicated thread on this matter - as it's getting lost amongst the daily shavers (I struggled to remember where it was) - I reckon Mods will ge upset as it is well and truly off topic.

Having said that, how close could we come at 'emulating' the 85mm Bulldog or some of the UFO designs….or even the Pureman handle? - which we might be able to use as a template if it is as good as stated. I assume he'd like something physical rather than a simple mental sketch. For me I want weight (solid), durable (stainless steel), great grip (knurling), bigger knob at bottom for grip

I shaved with a million year old shick in an ancient Eclipse red ring, with a brush from the Omega constellation dipped in the nectar of the proraso Gods.

It was good.
