Pears Soap.

Whats the slickness of the pears like? does it dry out the skin?

I get seborrheic dermatitis on the face so I always try and be careful on what I lather with.

The Truefitt and Hill soap was sublime but set off my face reacting instantly.

I love the line about not being able to use real coal tar any more because it's dangerous.

Simpler times.

Of course the real answer is YMMV, but I used Pears as my shaving soap for about 30 years. It doesn't produce a real lather as such, but it's plenty slick enough to do the job. Now I use it as my pre-shave. Trying it for yourself is at least a cheap experiment.

Glycerin doesn't dry out the skin, it's very slick. YMMV as some people do get skin reactions from glycerin, so I don't know about your skin condition as I'm not your father.

I have tried SR shaving with Pears Transparent (India) a few times. It just didn't have enough slickness for SR shaving but may work well in "safety" razor shaving. It is however great for washing your face prior to lathering. I use it for that all the time.

Pears Transparent is also made in Saudi Arabia.
