Hello from Essex, England

Hi mate and welcome

No ADs around my way - so you can chat safely to me :)

There are so many scents in the Shaver Heaven soaps I didn't know what to choose. What's your favourite? I haven't heard much about Occams.

Welcome mate

Occams will outperform any other Aussie made soap as far as I'm concerned (blocks ears and ducks) The original scent is generally agreed to be the favourite, and it's a light all spice/ chai scent which you may or may not like.

To join this site you must sign a form that you won't encourage enabling, Monsta will mail you the paperwork

Occams performs really well. Wish they would bring out a new scent though. Reminds me if guacamole.

Nice to have you here @unobtainium81 - I reckon you will fit right in. At least the suspects from the old country kind of get our humour, the yanks generally fail. We will be bagging you about the Ashes soon enough.

I grabbed a couple of Soap Commander units recently, got the Vision (pretty good) and the Courage (Bloody fantastic scent) and both perform well. The l'Occy/Plisson synth (aka Ploccitane, Plissitane, etc) is well liked around here. Was always a "why do I need one of those crappy badger imitators" kind of guy but it is my favourite brush these days. In Malaysia for a few weeks at the moment and it was the brush I dragged along which should give you an idea of how much I like it.

Both the Occams and the Shaver Heaven products are worthy additions. I have sampled but never bough, I have waaay too much Barrister & Mann soaps to consider thinking about soap buying for the next few years.

I have a sample of the courage. Really nice scent, my favourite is respect though. I've still not tried a B&M soap.

I've still not tried a B&M soap.
Pull up a chair, sit down. Grab a cuppa and let me tell you a yarn...
Pretty much all of us here were the same. No B&M in our lives. Up until recently, that is...
Now, 2 group soap buys in as many months later, we are all hooked. Even @Drubbing - yes, him! - will put in a not-negative word or two in their general direction.
It takes weeks to arrive (because it has to go through the hands of AusFarce). It costs more than most due to postage.
But... We reckon it's ripper soap.
Yep. It's gotten to be like that around here...

Gotta collect them all!

Welcome @unobtainium81 hope you enjoy your stay. Shaver Heaven for mine are right up their as far as soaps performance goes, Barrister and Mann are great as well. You can't go wrong with either. I have never tried any Occams but it is high on my list to try. @Anthony at Shaver Heaven makes some really different scents then most soap makers, I personally love his barbershop, hubba hubba, coconut citrus sorbet and washabi scents out of the about 8 I have tried so far.

Thanks for the recommendations. Barber shop and hubba hubba sounded good to me along with green tobacco.

@borked @filobiblic I fell off the wagon last night and bought about 8 soaps and 2 aftershaves, I hope your happy with yourselves lol. This included a Barrister and Mann Black Label soap. Still no Shaver heaven though. I'll be sure to post a picture when they arrive for your pleasure.

Well, I was hoping that you would hit the samples from Maggards hard, so you're able to sample the product and scents of multiple items and find what works for you, rather than entire pucks, yet it will be interesting to see what you purchased and how they go.
BTW, don't concern yourself with the comment above mine, swmbo syndrome is rearing its ugly head :p
