Nice razors and special congratulation on the Valobra stick - nice score (y)

Some nice looking hardware there (y) and where DID you manage to find that Valobra?

Cheers you guys, there's a fella who put a few sticks up for sale on the Spanish forum. I asked him about the Valobra and the vintage La Toja, which is a beautiful Spanish soap.

Funny how the Valobra stick was the first soap I noticed a big difference with, loved it from the very first moment.

Heh, sorry about both of us piling on about the Valobra, it's just that it has been virtual unobtainium for some time. But I guess not if you speak Spanish. (I can cope with French, German, Greek and even Latin at a stretch, but I haven't learnt Spanish.) I've stopped looking, since my stash will last for a few years yet. It's up there with Yardley as (IMO) the best soap ever made.

However, I've read the modern version of LaToja is well regarded by many. Not all reformulations are for the worse. DRH proves that.

Nah, no worries. I know it's a bit of a unicorn, as it should be. I'd still like to get some particular unobtaniums of mine, like the Crabtree & Evelyn Sandalwood after shave balm, but I am not too stressed about it.

I said no more razors, you've got enough! But along came 3 pieces of Sheffield's finest steel, at a price I just couldn't say no to.
A Cadman & Sons 'Bengall', E.M. Dickinson 'Invicta', and Ford & Medley 'Emu'.
Put a JNat edge on the Bengall after removing some little chips; I didn't really need a shave but couldn't resist a test drive.
I jumped from a 3K synthetic to the nagura set and again am very pleased with the result, although I think I might go to an 8K Shapton and do the
nagura progression again. Just playing around, but that is why I grabbed these affordable old gems.

Also gratefully received from @LesC, an English Windrose kamisori with symmetrical grind. Needs a light grinding to refine the point style. With that done and a honing to shave-ready, this rather unique SR will be PIFed on P&C.

If anyone else has a (few) SRs that they rarely use, let me know so that there can be some more shave-ready SR PIFs on P&C.

Is that destined to be the shortest “shorty” of all?
