Date:- 12 August 2020

Pre-shave:- Cold Water straight from the tap
Bowl/Scuttle:- Captain's Choice
Brush:- WCS Two-Tone Tall (Red & White) Extra Dense Synth. 26/56mm knot
Soap/Cream:- Whispers from the Woods (Australian made) ~ All Things Nice "Spiced Sandalwood & Honey"
Razor/Blade:- EJ 3one6 / Gillette Nacet #13
Post/After-shave:- T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent mixed into the 240ml bottle with Natural Glycerin (20 drops) & Tea Tree Antiseptic (5) / The Stray Whisker Aftershave Balm (Australian made)
Fragrance:- Proraso Wood & Spice

Darn, you @StratMan you've got me very badly hooked with All Things Nice "Spiced Sandalwood & Honey" the smell is bloody mind-blowing (OMFG!!). The lather and slickness performance from the soap is about two steps above Squadron and the post-shave feel is pretty darn good not as higher up against the top performance soap makers like Ariana & Evans, Barrister & Mann, Declaration Grooming, Noble Otter and Wholly Kaw I have in my den.

I'm hooked and don't have a puck yet. What aftershave would it match with?
You can get the aftershave and EdT of Proraso Wood & Spice which is closed to side by side, because, you'll get the honey smell from the soap more, but, the Wood & Spice is about 60% closer towards Spiced Sandalwood.

I never get sick of smelling this one 👍

Pre Shave: Hot Shower
Razor: Karve CB SB (G) plate & Muhle R41 Grande
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Brush: Wolf Whiskers 24mm synthetic
Soap: Noble Otter Rawr
Post Shave: Noble Otter Aftershave Splash / Nivia Sensitive Post shave balm

Interesting Shave, The shave off results will be posted in the Safety Razor section.
Rawr is a very nice soap. The lather is excellent very creamy and dense, also very slick and cushiony. Post shave was decent especially for this aggressive shave which I haven't had in weeks. The scent to my nose is very neroli forward with Bergamot citrusy take, with vanilla, some other floral scent and possibly some cedarwood and or musk. The splash is very Bergamot citrusy initially then the neroli really hits about 5 mins later. I like Neroli scents so yes this is a keeper for me. Matching aftershave - Tom Ford Neroli Portifino. (This an extremely powerful and expensive scent so use it wisely).

Pre-shave: Hot shower
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson H2 boar Shaving Brush
Soap/Cream: Klar Seifen Original shaving soap
Razor: Vintage Gillette 'Fatboy' (7)
Blade: Personna "Lab Blue" (1)
Post-shave: AoS Sandalwood gel
Fragrance: APR Raconteur Parfum Extrait

Gotta be the softest boar in all of the shaving world - but boy does it build a lather!

Brush: TF Custom Malle Burl Chameleon-Holographic 30mm Rhodium
Razor: Merkur 37C
Blade: Dorco Prime (5) // Euromax (1)
Soap: APR Ozymandias
Pre: Shower + PAA Cube mentholated
Post: APR Ozymandias splash // TSW After Balm
ATG, XTG, WTG = DFS +

Barring the first pass which was rough due to the Dorco, this morning's pre-work shave was heavenly! I'm continually blown away by how magnificent this brush looks and the performance of the knot is second to none. Managed to whip up plenty of slick lather in minutes, with added menthol from the PAA Cube. This winter soap is one of my favourites as the scent is too die for that I could easily use it everyday!!! The Euromax blade is the perfect balance of smoothness and sharpness that I'll eventually look to add some more very soon... Happy shaves!!!

Yowza, nice photos gents!

I've dug out all the stuff that's ended up in a drawer, and I seem to have a small collection of GEM SE razors. Gunna give them all a run through over the next few weeks.

Pre: Hot shower / exfoliating towel
Bowl: Turkish copper shave cup (from the now defunct bestshave.net)
Brush: Simpson M6 Manchurian Badger (22mm knot, 48mm loft)
Soap/Cream:
Irisch Moos shave stick
Razor/Blade:- GEM Micromatic Clog Pruf w/ Personna GEM 'Ted Pella' blade
Post/After-shave: Alum block / Speick Men Aftershave Lotion

First time shaving with an SE razor in a long time, and the face is great but the alum block lit up my neck. Feeling the burn! Bit of work to do on blade angle I reckon. Cheeks are BBS, lower neck is a case study in razor rash.

Next up, the GEM 1912 because I'm scared of the open-comb Micromatic. I'll use a soap with more cushion next time. Irisch Moos is a general purpose good soap, but my lack of SE technique requires Mike's Natural or the woo' fat I reckon.
