Every true gentleman of (even modest) means should have a matching seven-day set of straight razors.

After getting into straight razors last year, and being the gentleman that I am, I quickly gravitated to M7DS's. Being of relatively modes means, the Thiers-Issard M7DS was just a little beyond my budget. I then decided to assemble my own using Titan 1918 AMRM-2 T.H.60 straight razors. I imported these razors from Hong Kong, had the timber case custom made in Cebu, Philippines and the engraving (not etching) done by hand in Lapu-Lapu City, Philippines.

Each razor is engraved with its weekday name in Latin. So as to keep the wear even on the M7DS, I also purchased an eighth matching SR that I can use when I need to look my best for an evening engagement such as the opera, ballet or a lodge meeting. The eighth SR is engraved "Vesperum".

"Vesperum" has its own separate timber case.

I suppose it all should be called a M7+1DS.

Correction: "Titan 1918 AMRM-2 T.H.60" should read "Titan 1918 ACRM-2 T.H.60"

Titan was established in 1918 in Korea (then part of Japan) as a Japanese company. In about 1940, Titan moved to Yilan in Taiwan (then also part of Japan) where they are to this day still manufacturing straight razors mainly for the East Asian market. The steel for their straight razors is manufactured and forged in Japan, the razors are then ground and assembled in Yilan. They are finally shipped to Tai Wai, Hong Kong for marketing and distribution.

No, I did not edit the thread. I am linking to my photos in Google Photos and will try to post them again here.

Below is the M7+1DS in its case. The case is of Philippine mahogany. The SR in the lid is "Vesperum" that has its own separate case shown below.

Nice set @rbscebu. I have considered Titan razors a few times as an affordable BNIB option. They appear to be better quality than Gold Dollar.
How do they compare to vintage Sheffield or German blades?

The advantage of vintage SR's (of any persuasion) is that over the decades most of the individual not-so-good ones have already been scrapped. There are still some floating around that should have been scrapped decades ago, so it becomes caveat emptor.

I have found that vintage Sheffield or German blades can vary a lot in steel quality and hardness. This is to be expected as then they did not have the metallurgical knowledge and control that we have today. Most (not all) are of a softer steel that makes for easier honing but lacks the edge retention that good modern SR's today can give you. Many who like vintage SR's are particularly interested in their history.

I will contact the admin and see if I am doing something wrong.
Well since I am a mod here...let me try and help

You are linking pictures from an account that needs users to be logged in, in order to be viewable. In your case google.

Either you can somehow mark them in your google account in a way, that they are visible to everyone without login (I am guessing this will be either a pain or impossible), or you upload them from the get go to sites, that display them to everyone without having to log in.

I like imgur.com - because not only is it free, but you don't even have to log in in order to upload pics, which makes life very easy for me.

But there are many other image hosting sites - some of which listed here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_image-sharing_websites

Hope that helps

I hope this works. Please let me know. If this works, I will sort out the images in my review.

I must admit that I am shocked a Moderator gave this post a like! Just because @Drubbing is no longer gracing this site does not mean the "g"word should be bandied about willy nilly. Standards must be maintained :)

I am new to this forum. What is this "g"word that you write about? The only word I used in that post beginning with "g" was "gravitated".

Some of us have recovered from our trauma and are willing to embrace a breadth of language, including words previously considered "taboo". Especially newcomers are cut some slack :)

There is a long history mate and much consternation in the early days of this forum about the way "gentlemen" or "gentlemanly" were terms used elsewhere to describe an "in group" or describe behaviour that was actually far from "gentlemanly".

The Aussie egalitarianism riles against such language - but all good (and all said in good fun)

Very nice. Where did you pick up the titans?
Early last year I visited the Titan works in Yilan, Taiwan as I was interested in how they manufactured their straight razors. Late last year while in Hong Kong, I purchased eight of these razors directly from Titan in Tai Wai. They are also now available on AliExpress for about USD 20 each here:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32900122962.html?spm=2114.12010612.8148356.17.550f39b2UahQOi

Note that it does not come with a leather strop, only a denim strop and some stropping paste. I am not a pate sort of bloke so would never use it. I clean leather strop about 50 laps before each use and clean denim strop about 4 or 5 laps after use just to clean the bevel.
